I have reached that point again. Random locations popping up in my browser. Great road trip ideas. Social distancing activities… somewhere other than here. I have to admit, our impending heat wave has a lot to do with my current search engine finds. I don’t even know if we could swing a weekend getaway, but I can’t imagine what we will be doing here when it’s 110 degrees. Even the beach cities will be hitting the upper 90’s and it feels inescapable. Of course we have our fountain “pool” to hang out in — and with enough hard seltzers at hand, we might just make it through.

I decided to jump in on the #monthlystylechallenge hosted by @jessannkirby (with a little inspo from my friends). Today’s prompt was “summer’s not over yet” and ain’t that the painful truth! You already know I hate being hot, but sometimes if I wear a sports bra or fun bathing suit top under my clothes vs. a regular bra, I don’t care as much that I’m sweatin’. Today I went with my cheetah print bathing suit top and paired it with these pleated shorts. Hello safari adventure.
anti-racism notes
My very own little beloved town of Burbank made the news recently when the New York Times highlighted an era shortly after World War II. Japanese-Americans were released from internment camps and sent West to fend for themselves, some settling in almost unlivable conditions — temporary housing right here in Burbank.
