Oh my baby boy! He turned three!! We spent most of his birthday in the car traveling to Southern Utah for Christmas. He slept a little bit, which was fan-freakin-tastic, let me tell you. He hasn’t had much in the way of good solid sleep the past few months and we are wiped. So grateful for those quiet moments on the road. He was pretty good during the awake times too, which is always a pleasant surprise.
I am also proud to announce that he has reached a huge milestone, just in the past few days. Something we have been working on since his first day of therapy nearly 2 years ago.
The boy can point!
He doesn’t need me to tape down his other rascally fingers or hold his hand to help him isolate anymore. Just remind him to use his pointer and he sticks that chubby little finger right out. The thumb joins along to form an L, but man. It was a big moment to see him do it on his own. He still needs lots of practice to make it second nature, but it’s so refreshing to see the progress. Don’t tell him I told you, but daddy was even moved to tears the first time he saw it. Sweet success.
Stevie is also making strides in other areas, learning to say “agua”, improving his social skills, throwing tantrums and trying new methods to get his way. When you ask him what color something is, he always answers “BLUE!” At least he knows it’s a color! He says “aaaah!” after he takes a drink of anything. His love for trucks and trains is growing. And basically he’s just the coolest. I’m proud to be his mom and president of the fan club. He is one loved little boy.
Happy birthday Stevie!!
