With all the therapy that Stevie is getting, sometimes it’s hard not to get frustrated and impatient when progress doesn’t happen as quickly as you think it should. A couple months ago, I wrote a post about how tough it is to see his low scores over and over.
But the thing you I have to remember is that there will be chunks of time where it seems like nothing is happening, and then, all of a sudden, the upswing.
And I’m happy to say, it seems like Stevie is in an upswing right now. We are seeing new things from him. My favorite is that he is making more of an effort to repeat things. He doesn’t really say anything correctly, but you can tell he is trying. And that. is. everything.
At preschool, he also befriended an OT student and she’s been monitoring his scores over the last couple months. There’s improvement there too! Like a lot of improvement. On paper! I was so happy to see.

Mama can breathe a great big sigh of relief. Yeah, we have a long way to go for an almost 3 year old, but to see any improvement is reassuring after such a long period of nothing. And while we still have our rough times and difficult days, things do seem to be getting a bit easier day to day. Part of that is me giving up some of my control, but we are learning to navigate it all together.
Keep it up Stevie P!
HOORAY!! Nice Stevie, you freakin’ rock!
