Minimalist Packing List for Autumn

Packing for a trip.  Ya know, I don’t mind it too much.  It gets me excited to leave.  But I’ve never been great at it. It takes me ALL DAY.  Or sometimes even thinking about it, prepping, and making lists for weeks in advance.  And I still either bring too much or too little.  (Usually too much.)

With Stevie around, I don’t exactly have the luxury of time on my hands.  So during one of his naps, I quickly perused my now much smaller wardrobe, searched a few outfit inspiration posts on Pinterest, and I was packed up and ready to go in no time!  And I brought only exactly what I needed.

Huge accomplishment.

Having a smaller wardrobe made it quite simple actually.  Because everything fits.  And everything goes together, for the most part.  Aaaahhhh.  A closet where everything fits.  Who would have ever known it would make things so simple.

Anyway, you wanna see?  Here’s the list:

** ALL LINKS UPDATED SEPT 2021
SHIRTS: Chambray, Striped Thin Knit, Striped Tank, Burgundy Sweater
OUTERWEAR: Leather Jacket, Quilted Vest
SHOES: Sneakers, Boots
PANTS: Leggings, Jeans
EXTRAS: Sweater Dress, Scarf

Do you see I only brought TWO pair of shoes?!  I mean, this is sorta unheard of.

We were gone for 5 days, and the beauty of this packing list is that everything was mix-and-match.  And could be layered.  And since we’d be doing a lot of sightseeing, everything had to be comfortable.  CHECK. We weren’t sure how cold it would get, so the layering was key.  Luckily it wasn’t all that cold, so I was able to just rotate things around for a new outfit each day.

BAM.

And I could honestly make at least 4 more outfits with this stuff.  As long as it isn’t dirty, the possibilities are pretty plentiful.

Just gonna give myself a little pat on the back for embracing my inner minimalist.

  1. Oh, I missed this post while I was in Missouri maybe? I should have seen it before my trip. This is awesome! I must take notes for my next get-away – always so difficult to decide what to take along…. I like everything about it! You rock!
