Natural History Museum in Los Angeles

I have been putting off taking Stevie to the Natural History Museum because… well, he’s Stevie.  He has shown no interest in nature or history.  The museum does not have cars.  So I didn’t have high hopes.  One of his teachers recommended I take him, so I figured we’d give it a shot.

We braved the Friday traffic, paid $10 for parking, $15 for tickets, walked around the lobby for about 45 seconds, and Stevie shouted “HOME!”

I knew this was coming, so I could only laugh.  But I coaxed him into walking around a little more by lying.  Oh, I think we go out this way.  Look at that!  Oh wait, mommy needs to find a bathroom.  Look at this  cool thing!  He was not impressed by my tactics.

Once we got outside and he was able to touch some things and run around a bit, he seemed pretty happy.  He LOVED putting his feet in the water.  And introduced himself to some new friends by naming the colors of their shirts.  They were confused, but it was pretty cute.  He also told me he liked the “big horse”, which I later figured out was the dinosaurs.  Haha.  Oh this child.

I, on the other hand was super impressed with the renovations since I last went.  The grounds are beautiful!  And it was a lovely day to be out and about in Los Angeles.   As usual.
