I consider myself an Aunt to many, although I’m technically only an aunt to 2. My other set of nieces and nephews are actually my 2nd cousins. But lucky for me, when these little cousins, nieces, nephews, or whatever were in town, they called yours truly for some fun!
We all had a great time and got to know each other better at Disneyland. The boys went their own way for awhile and us girls got to be girls. We ate lunch at Ariel’s Grotto and the kids got autographs from all the princesses from Snow White to Cinderella. Then I took my turn on California Screamin’, which was so fun. And hilarious. I was riding with my smallest niece. She was so brave while we waited for the ride. But as soon as we started moving, she screamed “I WANT MY MOMMY!!” and she didn’t stop screaming through the whole ride. I kept trying to comfort her, asking if she wanted to hold hands? She did. And the look on her face was just priceless. I honestly thought she was going to throw up. So, as the ride came to an end, I anticipated she would run crying to her mom, saying how awful it was. But as soon as the roller coaster stopped, she looked at me with big eyes and said “THAT. WAS. AWESOME.” I just about died laughing. The whole day with the family was just a blast. I got to see them later in the week too, when we met up for dinner at Buca di Beppo. Love those guys.
Some things that did NOT involve being an Auntie were going to see a last minute Louis CK show with my husband and having a girls night in. Louis CK was the bomb of course. Hilarious. To die for. And girls night in was fantastic. We made inspiration boards. And watched movies. And giggled. Girly-ness at its best.
