Fall 10x10 Wrap Up

Today is the last day of the Summer 10×10 Challenge!

10 items of clothing
remixed for 10 days
to make 10 different outfits

To be perfectly honest, I’m pretty relieved this one is over.  I remember having the same feeling last Fall too.  It’s Just. So. Hot.  We knew that was coming.  But the 10 items needed to be washed a lot and the heat kinda zapped my creativity.  Like when it’s 100 degrees out, in any season, you wear shorts and a tank top.  The end.

But the plus side!  That’s what you want to know.  The plus side was that my outfits required very little thought in the morning.  I put that little bitty wardrobe to WERK.  I wasn’t shopping (or browsing) for anything new either.  Which I swear opened up my brain for other things.  I sewed three new items the last week and a half!  Granted, two of those items are a bit of a mess, but I’m going to keep working on them.  At least I had the desire to do it.

I also discovered that I don’t mind wearing clogs with shorts.  Who knew?

I know it’s nothing groundbreaking, but even though I’ve done at least 6-7 of these 10×10 challenges, there’s always something to take away.

Around day 8 is when I started wishing I’d included some sandals, and I thought I had hit a wall. I felt so over it.  But then on day 9, I came up with one of my favorite looks of the whole thing.  I used a shoelace for a belt, and I was pretty darn pleased with myself.  So I guess I’m proud that I stuck with it and went outside my comfort zone in small little ways.

  1. It was pretty hot up here in the Bay Area too. I wasn’t able to wear anything fall-ish and it was really hard for me because it was scorching outside. I also took away that maybe I need lighter fall colored clothing.

    All of your clothes are the perfect example of what I should have been wearing, rather than what I actually wore. That’s my take away. xo

    1. it’s taken years of practice to plan for real fall instead of what i WISH fall was. ugh!!! it’s 103 today here. so annoyed.

  2. LOVE all the linen in these looks! The recent weather has been driving me crazy, too! I live in the Northeast, where it SHOULD be consistently cold by now, and it’s been cramping my style 😉

    I absolutely LOVE the jeans/tank/clogs outfit. Like obsessed and want to 100% copy it kind of LOVE! I hope some cooler weather heads your way soon.

  4. Doing a Fall 10×10 when it’s blazing hot outside and everyone else is rocking their fall fashion has to be hard! Kudos to you for sticking with it.
