Our bathroom has been made over before. We’ve changed the floor tiles & the shower doors and Paul painted his little heart out on all the cabinets. That was… 4 years ago? I think. Pre-child. Since Stevie is the one who has reign over the guest bathroom now, I just wanted to update it again to make it a little more kid friendly.
Restoration Hardware Baby & Child was having a sale, so I got the stripey towels there. All the plain towels were super cheap at Target.
Stevie loves fishies so I knew I had to put them in somewhere. I borrowed the fish artwork idea from here. I just used acrylic paint on a scrap piece of poster board I had lying around. The frame is old too.
Michaels had some small canvases on sale. So I picked those up and then used this for my inspiration. I painted them first. Then I found “nautical silhouettes” on Google, traced them onto poster board, cut them out, and mod-podged them to the canvas. Fun little project for a Tuesday afternoon.
Update cost? Around $100. Most beautiful bathroom in the world? Nah. More kid appropriate? Yup. He just doesn’t know it yet!

OK, I just found some before-before pics of our bathroom.
That dark plywood, and the lightbox above the vanity? There’s good 80’s and there’s bad 80’s. Wait, is there good 80’s? Well yeah, I can think of a couple things. Anyway, this was bad 80’s. At first glance, it doesn’t even look that horrible, but it was. It was bad. I almost forgot how bad. Just trust me.
