Rainy day project! Poor Stevie was feeling sick anyway with a fever and some barfies. So he took a nice, long nap to sweat it out. While he slept, I had time to work on a project that I’ve been wanting to try for awhile; new curtains for our dining room/office. I found the look here. I sure wish I was creative enough to come up with this stuff on my own. But I loved these so much, I thought I’d give them a try.
The curtains (including the pretty scalloped lace panels) are from Ikea. The red tassel fringe is from Joann’s. I hemmed the curtains first with Stitch Witchery, magic I tell you! And then hand-sewed the fringe on. I could have used my “sewing machine” – I use that term very lightly, as it’s so ridiculous. More like a toy sewing machine than a useful piece of machinery. Plus hand-sewing was cathartic. It worked out. But if you have any form of OCD, do not look at the back…
I almost wanted to just leave these lace panels up because they are so darn pretty. But too much light comes in and we can’t see our babies…errr…computer screens.
I forgot to take a before picture, but you can imagine – they were just sheer-ish yellow panels. When I took them down to wash them, Paul said “Uh, please don’t put those back up. Get some new curtains. Those are disgusting.”
Happy to oblige, honey!
