Howdy-ho and yeehaw e’rybody!  I just got home from Texas a couple days ago, where they don’t actually say howdy-ho OR yeehaw.  But they do say y’all.  And it is adorable.

I came home to a very frustrated little 4 year old, who immediately burned me out, but I’m just gonna skip over all that and talk about the good parts of my trip. And I’m sure we will all be just fine with my decision.

This trip came about when I heard Caroline, hailing from the awesome Unfancy blog was looking for contributors. She wanted people who generally subscribe to the idea of a capsule wardrobe and wouldn’t mind writing about it.  (Side note: Seriously, if you are at all interested in having the most functional wardrobe ever, check it out.)

I applied for the guest position and anxiously awaited my rejection letter.  But instead, I got an email saying I’d been chosen to help out with a handful of posts!!  WHAT!  Stevie was napping as I read the email over and over to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating.  Then out of sheer excitement, I ran to my room and screamed into the pillows, like a teenager who just got asked to prom by the cutest boy in school.  Super pumped.

Austin was fantastic.  Really.  To be fair, I didn’t see much of it, because we were traveling and working and eating delicious things, plus it was cold as the dickens – but it definitely has a vibe.  Good, diggable vibes. Love at first sight kind of place.  It didn’t hurt that we were staying at the beautiful W Hotel right in Downtown, or that we had such amazing hosts, or that I had a fun roommate, Jacquelyn.  She’s over at justjacq.com, for the record. All good things, all good things.

You’ll hear plenty more about Unfancy and capsule wardrobes and outfits and mom style and all that good stuff in the upcoming weeks.  So for now, I’ll just share some pics of the trip!
