Stevie and I needed this day. BAD.
The last two weeks with Stevie have basically been torture. And that’s putting it lightly. He is struggling with old and new behaviors. About a million tantrums a day. Lots of things that don’t make sense. Kind of out of control. Everything feels like it’s falling apart. Me, at a loss, exhausted. Tears. Desperate. Looking for answers.
I still don’t have them, but today, I am just beyond grateful that we had fun together. YES! FUN!! THANK YOU GOD!! He cooperated. He smiled. He danced. He ate. The tension was relieved, even if just for a few hours. We freakin’ enjoyed ourselves.
All it took was a little ride on the commuter train. Every time we saw the train traveling through town, he would yell “STEVIE ON!!!!” And I thought, well, that should be easy enough. And it was. The train departs from Burbank just about a mile from our house. I decided to take it south to Union Station, since I know that area a little bit. It was about a 25 minute ride and once we arrived at the (beautiful) station, we walked across the street to Olvera Street and had some lunch and churros there. We watched the native dancers, which Stevie loved, and then headed home for a nap. Easy. Good. We shall do it again sometime.
Awesome photos!
His excited little face! Ahh, have gone weak with cuteness.
I’ve just found your blog through your new second home on Un-Fancy and am so pleased! In the few minutes I’ve been here I’ve already laughed out loud more than once and have fallen in love with your openness. Time for a binge read!

Stevie is so precious! I’m so sorry I haven’t stopped by sooner and THANK YOU for being such a loyal reader of my blog. I’m so sorry to hear that Stevie has been struggling. As you know, I truly understand and feel your mama-heart pain. Could he be any cuter??
