We are starting to pack for our next trip to NorCal but Paul and I had a fantastic little getaway a couple weeks ago to Napa.
Since it was our 6th wedding anniversary and because we haven’t had a night alone since Stevie came along, I pretty much insisted that we go somewhere. I think I brought it up every morning during coffee until I got the OK. We had thrown around a few different ideas of places that were semi-close but that we had never been to before – like Portland, Seattle, Vancouver. But Napa sounded just perfect for a relaxing, romantic weekend.
We flew out Friday night and started our Saturday with the Napa Valley Wine Train. Let me tell you, I LOVED this. Sure, it might be a bit of a tourist attraction, but it was just too cute. We ate a yummy lunch as the train rolled along next to the vineyards. We got to tour Grgich Hills Winery. We sat in the dessert lounge on the way back, where we devoured creme brulee and coffee. They brought us a little anniversary treat too. It was quiet and romantic and the scenery was beautiful! There’s just something about trains, am I right?
The rest of the day, we kind of drove around and just looked at the different wineries and a couple silly tourist spots. We went to the outlets and grabbed dinner at Gott’s. We were in bed by 9pm. And we slept. A lot.
Sunday morning, we quickly stopped in Sonoma for lunch before we had to catch our plane home. Of course, it went too quickly. But Sonoma is a place we definitely want to go back and visit again. Seemed like there were a lot of family-friendly places to see. So we’ll be heading back up there someday for sure!
If nothing else, I must go back to this bridge and put a padlock on it. So cute. This was the part where 90 year old Mr. Grgich himself told me I had

I can’t seem to decide on my comments section. So I’ve changed it once again… If you have an opinion, I’d like to hear it! Test out the new Disqus.
