I bring Mr. Stevie to this park called Shane’s Inspiration twice a week for Physical Therapy. It is an awesome playground near the carousel at Griffith Park and has so many options for him. He’s not crazy about the park because every time we go, I’m making him work alongside his therapist. Stand up and walk! Stand up and walk! Stevie! Walk! No, stand UP! WALK over here! Come on! You can walk!
Trust me, it’s tiring for all parties involved. So on a nice, cool day last week, I brought him here on our own and just let him do whatever he wanted. No instructions. Just set him down on the ground and said OK Go! (If right there you started thinking about dudes dancing on treadmills, you are one after my own heart.)
Anyway, he seemed to enjoy it. Even took it upon himself to practice walking a couple of times – with no prompting from me. Great to see! But if I’m being honest, I was mostly mesmerized by his hair rather than his physical fitness.
Just came across this old blog post and must say, loved all the pics you took of Stevie! He is so cute. Hope all is going well with you and Stevie. Thank you for mentioning Shane’s Inspiration on your blog. We would love for you to join us at our monthly play date, My PlayClub, which meets at a different Shane’s Inspiration playground each month. Check out our schedule at http://www.shanesinspiration.org/my_playclub/. We’d love for you to check it out! Marci Moran, Director of Community Outreach & Special Events, Shane’s Inspiration
