To wrap up the very busy month of October, we’ve had some visitors in our area. And lucky us, they are all some of our favorite peeps!
My Utah bestie and her husband came to see us while they were on their babymoon to SoCal. She is pregnant with her 4th baby, and is just as fun as ever. Seriously, anyone who survives one kid is my hero. And she’s not only survived, she’s raised some awesome kids. So she ranks pretty high on the totem pole of coolness. We spent one glorious day together and I just love them both.
Our favorite Mummi (my mom) came to see us while she was on her fall break from school. This woman is awesome, I tell you. She decided a couple years ago to go back to school to get a degree in social work and she has been working so hard! She doesn’t get much time off from studying, but when she did, I was so glad she came here. We had a great visit. It makes me smile that she just doesn’t want Stevie to forget her!
We had one Saturday in October with nothing on the calendar. So we got the fam together and drove to Irvine to meet up with more fam. We had a yummy lunch and got some ice cream and they just fawned all over Stevie. I’m so glad he’s getting to know his Armenian roots with cousins and great uncles.
Had lunch with my gal pal Heather and her mom. They spent the afternoon dodging Stevie’s spit, but we still had a nice visit (I hope!)
I got my butt to Disneyland a couple times. I can’t tell you how awesome it is to have a friend with an annual pass. It’s my favorite thing to just drive down for a couple hours, have a bite to eat and squeeze in some girl talk. Simply good stuff.
My dad texted one day, asking when a good time to visit would be. I honestly don’t talk to my dad on a regular basis, so I’m always pleasantly surprised to hear from him. We do at least make the effort to go back and forth to Missouri so we can see each other every couple years. It was nice to have him here and let Stevie get to know his grandpa a little better.
Having friends and family here keeps me sane between all the therapy and doctors appointments and running around… and sometimes just the day to day monotony. So let’s do this again soon, everyone!
my turn, my turn, pick me!
