December was busy in the best possible way. I really tried to do things to pick up my Christmas spirit and enjoy the season as a whole. Starting with a date night to the No Doubt concert at Gibson Amphitheater. Oh, so very fun. I was 16 again in my mind and danced my ass off.
Then there was a trip to see the Christmas lights at Disneyland. Believe it or not, as much as I love Disneyland this time of year, I often avoid it because of the crowds. But for a Thursday afternoon, it wasn’t half bad. Had a magical time with Stevie and one of the besties.
We got together with some friends to hand out holiday gift bags to the homeless. I know I already did an official blog post of this, but these are just a few silly snaps from my iPhone. It was fun and feel-goody.
We had our annual Friendly Friends Christmas Party and it was super classy, let me tell you. Sona & Brian were our hosts this year and they did an awesome job putting it all together. Everyone cleaned up good. I sucked at picture-taking that night, but trust me, it was fab.
As you know, Stevie turned 2! We opted out of having a party because things had been so busy (and let’s be honest, he could care less about opening presents and celebrating and all that. Not quite there yet. Although he definitely knows what cake is and has the appropriate response when asked if he wants any. A few people dropped off gifts and we do appreciate that. He’s happy with them as long as he doesn’t have to do the opening.) So we just had a little dinner with Paul’s family and a surprise visit from a clown! Our friends Hector & Norma wanted him to have fun on his special day and it was perfect. So thoughtful!
I was so excited to take Stevie to the Christmas Train at Travel Town in Griffith Park. I felt like I waited and waited for this day. And… it was… not what I thought it was going to be. AKA it was lame. But its OK. We had fun anyway. Stevie got tons of walking practice in and loved watching the train go by. He was extra good that day. We even drove around to look at Christmas lights in the neighborhood afterward. Made me feel all happy holiday-ish and warm fuzzy and stuff.
And I think that about does it for December! Which means the New Year is up next. Excited and anxious for it all at once.
FUN FUN FUN!
