It’s not very often I get to host a giveaway on this silly little ol’ blog. So when JORD Wood Watches reached out and asked me to try the product, offer my feedback, AND give away a gift card to one of my readers, I was pretty excited.
BUT!
(Isn’t there always a BUT?)
I didn’t want to do a sponsored post unless it aligned with my personal wardrobe values. How very preachy of me, right? I almost denied you guys of a really cool product just to push my agenda.
BUT (another BUT!)
GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!
I asked JORD to please share with me a little about their ethics + sustainability practices — and they were all on board! In fact, they said they love talking about it. And here’s what they had to say:
Sustainability – a great majority of the wood we use comes from furniture remnants. It takes very small pieces for us to create the cases and individual links, so we are able to utilize what would otherwise end up in a waste cycle. Both Bamboo and Maple we source is completely sustainable, and – as is expected in the industry – all of our Koa comes from damaged trees or tress that were brought down by a natural weather event.
Fair Wages – there is no elegant way to say this, but part of the reason we wanted to work with a facility that we would have management capabilities in, is so that we would ensure the people working on our watches were trained adequately, treated fairly, and paid appropriately for their positions.
Environmental Safeguards – all of our watches are treated with natural substances, no hazardous chemicals. Not only for the sake of the environment, but for those who work on the watches. The watches are conditioned with natural tung oil.
So there you have it! Beautiful looking timepieces that also walk the walk. Hooray for all of us!
Man alive. No photo shoot has ever made me so painfully aware of my hands and how awkard they are to pose. Shoutout to the hand models – it ain’t no joke!
Anyway, I have to tell you that after wearing this cool watch for a couple days, I am pretty much in love. I typically wear a watch with a bigger face, but this women’s watch is actually a perfect mix between masculine and feminine style. It’s really lightweight, goes with everything in my closet, and even Paul was impressed with the look and quality. Hello men’s gift idea! (Plus how much do we love the name? Zebrawood + Champagne — it’s like it was made for me, honestly.)
Now for the giveaway! One lucky reader will get a $75 e-gift code to use in the JORD Wood Watch Shop. And just for entering, everyone will get a $20 e-gift code emailed to them. Not too shabby! (Contest ends November 20, 2016)
And, as always, thanks for checking in!
