So some people will surely scoff at this winter packing list. It is obviously not for a trip to say… Alaska. Or Minnesota. We are not going skiing here, ok? This packing list might be more appropriate for somewhere like St. George. Or Memphis. Does it snow in Memphis? I don’t know. Somewhere that it doesn’t really snow. A place you’ll be happy to have layers and some warm boots. Because that’s all this list really is. Mixing and matching the layers. Wearing tights and cozy socks under your regular clothes. This is what I took with me to Southern Utah in December and it worked out great. Next time I’d probably throw one more thermal shirt in there, just for laundry purposes – that purpose being not to do any laundry.
SHIRTS: Thermal Henley, Sweatshirt, Knit Sweater, Chambray
OUTERWEAR: Shearling Coat, Puffer Vest
SHOES: Suede Booties, Duck Boots
PANTS: Thick Leggings, Jeans
EXTRAS: Beanie, Scarf, Tights, Knee-High Socks, Boot Socks
Just like with my Fall packing list, I was so excited how many outfits I could make from just a few items. I can still think of a couple more just looking at the picture! And I gotta say, my suede booties have proved to be a great purchase. (It seriously PAINS me to the core that they are 1/2 price from just a month ago!) But they are casual and comfortable enough that I can wear them running errands, and just dressy enough that paired with some skinny jeans and pretty accessories, I can get away with wearing them out for dinner or drinks. What up booties? You’re the best!
I also feel like I should let you know that I’m truly a wimp about the cold. It was in the 40’s while we were in UT and under my pants, I not only wore tights, but also thigh high socks… and regular socks… hey, at least I wasn’t complaining!
