If you know me at ALL, you know I’m a Dave Matthews Band superfan. We’ll just leave it at that, so I don’t expose the maximum capacity of my nerdiness right now.
For their most recent music video to the beautiful song “Mercy”, they reached out to all the fans to submit content. They asked for different types of content – videos and pictures that signified god, strength, crime, gosh I can’t even remember all the categories. But of course I sent in a picture of Stevie. To me, this picture is the epitome of strength. It was about 2 weeks after his open heart surgery – he was 1 month old. And the way he raised up his little arm – well, how perfect is that? Such a little fighter.
I am just over the moon to tell you that this photo made it into the video!!! I am beyond excited. I watched intently and thought, “Gosh, even if it’s in there, it might be really difficult to find…” and then, there it was! About 1:30 into the song, when Dave sings about how “Love is strong” his little face shows up in the top of the screen. Just for a second. But that was enough for me!!! Watch the video and get excited with me! I’m going to watch it again and again and again.
Did it give you chills?! Bring tears to your eyes? No? Just me? Ok, that’s ok. Watch it again and see if you get chills the second time around…
#DMBMercy, pass it on.
